My Poetry:
These are the poems from my book "Potentially Dangerous Material".

A Withered Perch

On the bodies of slithering snakes,
the sleeping creature stirs, awakes.
While Death's angels rest their wings,
a sharp chill their bellowing brings.
They seek out with a watchful eye,
blacker than even the darkest dye.
And with a breeze they take flight,
a gust of wind turns day to night.
What remains is stripped and cold,
a once young frame now bleak and old.
Here the circle of life flows,
this marks the end, The Tree of Crows.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Self Centered

My body is as Skylla:
I have the hands of Hephaistos
and the feet of Hermes.
I have the eyes of the Fates
and the mind of Cheiron.
I have the strength of Herakles
and the heart of Ares.
Greater than even Zeus himself
for I may smite my enemies
with the crash of a single thought.

It is Magnificent, a Most Miraculous sight,
the Embodiment of an Enlightened Entity.
I am like wind, like water -
like earth, like fire.
I am a blinding light
and a smothering darkness.

I am the North Star, or the small bear,
a guide for lost souls to see.
Split a piece of wood and I am there,
lift a stone and you will find me.

In my own little universe
with a population of one,
outside of every verse
my power is none.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Power of the Mind

Words are weapons and thoughts are shields
to which you carry onto the battlefield.
And when your might is tested true
use your knowledge both old and new.
You may be challenged by friend or foe
but do not fear which you do not know.
Stand your ground, be firm and bold
with all your wisdom you will not fold.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Time

Time is running round and round
The clock is ticking down and down
Above and beyond the minds control
There is no future, no saving at all
From the time of birth until you rot
Time spins round and round the clock
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Glimpse of Me

always so giving
yet trying,
strong and mindful
yet lacking control.
intense,
free and spirited,
emotional.
true and just
and willing to sacrifice.
loving
yet full of anger,
a wolf
in sheep’s clothes
and a demon
with angel wings.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Worker Ant

The worker ant
dies peaceful
knowing well
the importance
of sacrifice.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is the point?

life is a game of waiting
waiting for times of happiness
happiness few and far between
between all the sadness
sadness which must continue
continue until our death
death is where it ends
ends this life
life is a game of waiting
waiting for what
what is the point?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
North and South

It isn’t you
and it isn’t me,
it’s this mixture
that’s not meant to be.

You’ll always have
a place in my heart,
but there was trouble
from the start.

We weren’t good together,
like water and oil;
the fights we had
made my blood boil.

I can’t make it work
but I’ve tried before
and every time
you showed me the door.

So this time it seems
that this is goodbye,
I can’t wait forever
and I hope you know why.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
six

I stand six feet from you;
my figure is in plain sight
but you can’t see my face.

I stand six feet from you;
I call in a desperate tone
yet you can’t hear my voice.

I stand six feet from you;
my hand is almost within reach
but you can’t touch my skin.

I stand six feet from you;
I’m down wind from a breeze
yet you can’t smell my scent.

I stand six feet from you;
my tears fall to the ground
but you can’t taste my sorrow.

I stand six feet from you
and you are not even here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jaded

A withered seed was sown in darkness,
with roots of evil and stems of sorrow.
Blossoms of hate and leaves of apathy,
protect the fragile stalk of fear.
The blacken core of suffering provides,
corrupted thoughts and poisoned memories.
Boiling blood churns with anger,
and a frozen heart melts of loss.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Waste of Time

you cry out to the heavens
in a rush of pouring rain
God can't hear your screams
he doesn't even know your name
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the beginning.

One by one and one still,
half a glass leaves room to fill.
Day by day time is lost,
to love and lose is a heavy cost.
Pure of heart when born,
though every rose has its thorn.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nature’s Darkest Fruit

An array of maroons and violets;
the soft cluster of natures passion.
Its juice stains the skin
its flavor stains the mind;
like the days of my youth,
picking wild berries for the days meal.
A sour taste with a sweet smell
I remember .....
It’s like a raspberry full of sadness
so it's victims may be full of joy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Deity

Where life begins, the origin,
lies an ocean of beauty
rising and falling with the waning moon.

To the north are rigid capped mountains
covered in a dark ivory snow.
A trail of colored earth leads to an emerald treasure.

The far south reveals smooth skies
as long as the eye can see .
Soft clouds flow endlessly toward the horizon.

East and West are captivating islands,
their grip sturdy and strong.
The peaks and valleys unique to the land.

All are just one bright star in a mass of heavenly body.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Point Stockholm

There was only one way in, one way out
Some crazy times is what it was all about

Three huge fields of tall, yellow stalks
Up the road for some midnight walks,

Two paved squares, a big and little block
With never a reason to check the clock

An old dirt path ran down to the creek
It was a great place for hide and seek

In Fall, leaves of red, yellow and orange
And the sky at dusk glowed with orange

Winter turned everything a shiny white
A perfect time to cuddle up at night

The spring there helped free the mind
One sober thought was hard to find

The summer sun gleamed off the lake
A great place for memories to make

It might be a good place for you to see
Because it has always been good to me
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Short Wait

your whiskey breath burns
my eyes water to cool and comfort
i stay quiet
still
i find a place of happiness
inside my mind
i crack a smile
as your hand cracks my flesh
"one day" i whisper
"i shall grow bigger than you"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fading
The squeal of the brakes.......
they are     locked.

Screeching?

It must be the tires;
pinned to the seat like a roller coaster ride,
blurred vision

spinning; screeching; squealing:

Then; silence …

Flashing lights mix with the night sky,
the air dyed     crimson.

Thoughts of failure and love
Fade to Black.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aware

Thinking of the future is always fun;
to dream of things that may not come.
And remembering the past with things unsaid,
time and time until you’re dead.
But is the present where the mind should be,
giving you eyes that can not see?
Or think of none and you shall reveal,
you’re nothing more than a mouse in a wheel.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Willow Tree

I walked to a willow tree near a shallow brook.
Fireflies revealed the narrow path with each faint glow.
Every star’s light, a freckle in the sky.
I carved my name in the tree.
A marker for some future traveler.
I had seen it first.
One word described it.
All the beauty.
My feelings.
Sublime.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Escape

What would you do,
if joy was nothing more than memory
and sadness became your only comfort?

What would you do,
if anger flowed through your every vein
and hate swelled in your blacken heart?

What would you do,
if Life became a timeless prison
and Death was your only escape?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pessimism

today is worse than yesterday and
tomorrow is always worse than today
everything can always get better and
good is never good enough anyways
what you have you never want and
what you want you can never have
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tyranny

The simplest response
A savior
To preserve self and conquer foe
The ability to overcome all emotions
Empowering and pure
A divine authority
The most noble feeling
Anger
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Without Restraint

The earth beneath me is wet but firm.
A gentle breeze throws my hair
and a warm sun beats on my skin.
I am free, without reins;
an endless plane stretching before me.
Never will I be tamed;
a wild beast under God’s watchful eye.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Invisible
Raise me from the gates of hell;
let me follow your holy light.
I am stuck in this lonely spell;
a fragile man with godly might.

Take me to that special place
with a warm sun and clear skies.
I’m a child in your loving embrace,
but a ghost in your timeless eyes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Half of a Whole

Save me from insanity,
save me from reality.
Take me to your secret place,
let me fill your lonely space.
I want to see through your eyes,
show me what you hold inside;
to look beyond that crystal blue
and let me be a part of you.
I’d leave all this world behind
to feel a love I can’t deny.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Life’s Irony

My dreams, they fade and drift away
They are meant to leave; not to stay
And all my love is on display
For each to see but none to say.

My heart will never be set free
I’ll always love a memory
And all my hopes imprison me
A timeless end was meant to be.

My shattered soul was never blessed
Though sometimes good but never best
Life is a game; Death is a test
It is time to sleep; time to rest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Path

As I pass a towering tree
I notice a bird following me.
He comes to whisper in my ear
warning of a bear traveling near.
I thank the bird for all his say
but tell him I will rightly stay.
He asks why I will not go
But there is a reason he does not know
I do not fear what may come to be
but walk tall and forever free.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Prayer From The Damned

Can you see through my soul
to find a pure heart?
Will you love me?
Save me?
I am lost in eternity,
an endless void.
To you I turn,
the keeper of time,
the creator of all things.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My Dark Side

Stumbling around in a blurry haze
I find my way in a drunken daze.
In the morning I believe
when I’m rising from below,
that the devil will grieve
and angels will never know.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My Heart’s Reverie

I need someone to keep me bound,
make my feet stay on the ground
but let my heart float to the sky;
to spread my wings and let me fly.

I need someone to set me free,
to open my eyes and let me see
but keep me safe and draw the line;
that special someone to call mine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Silent Muse 1

Your mystery traps my curious mind,
what is it that I think I will find?
I have never heard a more beautiful voice,
the sound which makes my soul rejoice.
Though I’ve never heard a word you’ve spoken
your presence leaves my heart unbroken.
And if we should meet along life’s path
I ask for love’s comfort and hate’s wrath.
Give me everything that you keep in reserve
and I shall give in return, the love you deserve.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Silent Muse 2

A resonating harmony
rings the bells of time.
A ripple in all existence.
A truly magnificent sound
with angelic purity.
The striking words
of my silent muse.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the color of light

in the clear blue sky
where white doves once flew
dark clouds now loom
releasing the tears of heaven
to cleanse the stagnant air
and with a gentle breeze
new light is born
a colorful frown fades
giving way to a bright smile
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Free Will

I have given the ultimate sin,
all that is yang and what is yin.
The power to give and take life
with an everlasting lust for strife.

But I have also given the ultimate light,
the choice between wrong and right.
The power to choose love over hate
and the strength to overcome fate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another Point of View

To a fish in the ocean
God is the sea,
forever vast and wandering free.

He is always present
but never seen,
with proof few and far between.

The one who chooses
a life to make,
or who leaves death in his wake.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Eternal Flame

So fragile is its waning glow;
a candle flame in a brisk wind,
flickering with every drop of rain.

Such a delicate balance is held
on which existence and ruin
are weighed on the scale of life.

Never so splendid is the moment
in which light becomes darkness.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What You See In Me

I am a pane of shattered glass
whose pieces litter a grand shore
I am a ghost of a distant past
a memory long since forgotten
I am a single droplet of rain
lost in the endless ocean tides
I am but a whispered secret
which befell a deaf man's ears
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Release

i wander eternal
adrift in a sea of madness
my only comfort comes
as fate's poison kiss
tempts my yearning soul
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Gift

The power of god resides in us all,
a strength to rise or weakness to fall;
this unique mind which can create
and a willful heart to change fate.
A pure soul that can shine and glow,
the power to learn and power to grow.
The right to choose a life to make
or to decide a life which to take.
The right to live and choice to teach,
to give out hate or love to each.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unicorn

A wild unicorn drinks
from a magical stream
on which my dreams float.

The moon’s twilight lingers
in the glistening depths
of a peaceful stillness.

A single breathe dances
across the water surface
as my hearts only proof.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
308

I’m sorry I can not give you my heart,
it has belonged to another from the start.
I gave it to her long ago
back when love didn’t hurt
and my soul would glow.
I can promise you this,
there is one I’ll always miss
but I’ll be honest and fair,
kind and willing to share,
to compromise and to care.
But I shall always remember
so long ago when I was young
when I was full of laughter and fun.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Mirage

So bitter cold is the air,
so bitter sweet is the taste
you have left me with.
Love’s final kiss
frozen on my cold lips.
And as you walked away
I could see you disappear
into the winter snow.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Misplaced Future

And on some distant day,
in some distant time and place,
you will look back to me
and you will surely find
only a distant memory.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tragedy

Is it enough to be me,
with blunders and imperfections
for all to see?
Am I truly free
or am I bound to this place,
this life, this prison, this tragedy?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My Tribute

I do not have a pirate’s treasure
Or a king’s gold to spoil you.
I do not have an angel’s purity
Or a saint’s faith to bless you.
I do not have a scholar’s wit
Or a sage’s wisdom to guide you
I have only the words of a poet
And my loving heart to give you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Story Untold

A sturdy yet elegant cover
trimmed with locks of gold,
it looks very important
but not very old.
There are two separate keys,
one that’s fiery hot
and the other icy cold.
The first page is torn
and the rest are blank.
An end was never written
because the beginning was never born.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Heart of a Fool

Does my wishful heart deceive
all that I love and all I believe?
It was more than friendship
and far greater than lust,
but will it be over by dawn
and forgotten by dusk?
What if I want something more?
These feelings that I keep
are too strong to forget
and too vivid to ignore.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Watch Tower

The ring rings of the bells that sing
and the birds that sing
and the smiles they bring.

The click clicks of the clock that ticks
and the heart that ticks
and the trigger that clicks.

The bang bangs of the shots the rang
and the ears that rang
and the bullets that sang.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pandora

You are a timeless sight
to a blind man’s eyes
and an endless sound
in a deaf man’s ears.
Forever the focus;
the sensation.
You are the will and the why,
the reason and the answer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Power

My power can hide the moon
quelling the ocean tides,
or swallow the earth whole
to satisfy my hunger.
I may blacken the sun
stealing the warm light,
or I may pluck the stars from the sky
to simply throw them away.

But my power has limits:
I can not hide my thoughts
nor swallow my pride.
I can not blacken my heart
nor throw away my dreams.

For this I need you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My heart is a puzzle

There are pieces for my family
and pieces for my friends,
some pieces for the sick
and pieces for the dead.
Even pieces for my enemies
and pieces for my loves.
But after all of these pieces
there are no pieces left for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To My Dearest,

If my dreams are where you hide
then in my dreams I will confide.
Every night I pray my sleep last
so I may live with you in the past.
And as I wake lies a single thought,
to which I have not yet forgot.
The color of your emerald eyes
which slowly fades and dies
to wishes that you might come my way,
the hope I need to last another day.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gone Away

You didn’t say goodbye when you left this town,
you had on a smile, but I was wearing a frown.
There are so many things that I wanted to say,
thoughts and feelings for your heart to weigh.
You are my worst low but my greatest high,
you can make me laugh or you can make me cry
and I’ll always remember the time we shared,
I haven’t always been around but I’ve always cared.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Piaculum

Past the hurt and all the pain,
Past the suffering and all the blame
You are my hope, you are my pride
You are the guardian angel walking by my side.

Believe me babe, I know how lonely you feel,
Like everyone is around but there’s no one here.
I want you to know, I’m just a thought away
And that everything will be alright, some day.

I would give you my heart
And I would give you my soul,
I would give you all the parts
To make you whole, again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A Winter Dream ...

I once awoke from a winter’s dream
but life that day was not as it seemed.
My body shook, but not from the cold;
I tried to be strong, I tried to be bold.
It was my daughter, it was my son
it was the light I felt, from up above.
It was my heart and it was my soul,
it was the hope I felt from down below.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Roads End

There is no more right and no more wrong
just a faint reminder of why you’re gone.
You taught me more then I could teach myself,
that there is more then pride and foolish wealth.
And it is my only hope to make you see
that it was your love that set me free
it is not my past and what I have done
but who am I and what I have become.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nobility

The sad remembrance of a lion tamed
No longer the king of pride’s domain
An empty stare from his quiet eyes
A once fierce look no longer resides
His will forgotten but a strength remains
A glimpse of hope for a glory reclaimed
